Russell has spent around 35 years working as a portfolio Finance Director, sitting hands-on with SMEs across a wide range of sectors. Over that time he's built a network of experienced FD colleagues, and brings first-hand experience of what growing businesses actually need from financial leadership — not just the theory.

Matt Lenzie

Co-Founder

Matt is an ex-bank manager turned marketer and technologist. He built the FractionalFD platform and leads on marketing — from SEO and content to paid growth — bringing a background in finance together with hands-on experience building and marketing online businesses.

How we met

Matt and Russell have known each other for decades, long before FractionalFD existed. That relationship — and a shared view that growing businesses shouldn't have to choose between doing without senior financial leadership or paying for a full-time hire they don't yet need — is what led them to build FractionalFD together.
